Balint Bolygo

Balint Bolygo’s site specific permanent moving light sculpture entitled Aurora, was installed at the newly opened East London boutique hotel 'The Town Hall' in the summer of 2010. Bolygo was commissioned to make a permanent artwork for the hotel along side fellow East End artists Debbie Lawson, Peter Liversidge, Zoe Mendelson, Claire Morgan and walkwalkwalk, adding innovative new-media design to these high-art surroundings. The magnificent Grade II-listed Bethnal Green Town Hall was radically transformed in an extensive series of development and restoration works.Shortly after this work was completed, the Town Hall Hotel opened its doors for the public to explore the artworks and building, with tours led by curators and architects, and a one-off performance by the artist collective walkwalkwalk.
