Max Eastley at Kinetica Art Fair 2010

  Max Eastley performed an improvised solo on the Arc called Inscription on Shadow at the Kinetica Art Fair 2010

Max Eastley is an internationally recognised artist who combines kinetic sculpture and sound into a unique art form. He has exhibited in major galleries such as the Hayward, the Serpentine and the Arnolfini. His most recent solo exhibitions were at the Metropole Gallery, Folkestone and South Hill Park Arts Centre, Bracknell. He is an artist with the Cape Farewell Climate Change project (http://www.capefarewell.com/) and has created a number of installations for them at the Natural History Museum, London; the Eden Project, Cornwall; Fundacion Canal Madrid and the museum of Science, Tokyo.

Max is also well known as a musician who plays free improvisiation on a unique instrument, the Arc - an Electro Acoustic Monochord. His recent concerts include Pestival Festival at the Queen Elizabeth Hall with Robyn Hitchcock; solo performances at Millenium Park, Chicago and the Kings Place Festival; performances at Caf矏tto with Steve Beresford and Al Doyle of Hot Chip; playing with the Graham Coxon Power Accoustic ensemble at the Barbican Hall and with Jarvis Cocker at the Rome Film Festival. He has produced numerous recordings including New And Re-Discovered Musical Instruments with Brian Eno; Buried Dreams and Doll Creature with David Toop and A Life Saved By A Spider And Two Doves with Evan Parker.

He has composed music for films, most recently for David Buckland director of Cape Farewell; has composed for the Siobhan Davies Dance Company and collaborated with Light Artist Chris Levine on two Light and sound events at The Eden Project, Cornwall.
