Bernardini uses lighting devices, primarily fibre optics, to re-draw and readdress our notion of space and the interrelation between buildings, free standing forms, sculpture and people. His lines of light re-map, re-connect, and realise the alternate dimensions our eyes take for granted, sculpting voluminous connections were darkness and emptiness appeared before. In his mapping he creates an entirely new vision and conception of a room, building, or space. He encompasses the connections people feel towards the space as well as the connections between people who use and inhabit it. His large scale exterior works are striking for both the simplicity and complexity of the unoccupied, and occupied spaces he creates.

Bernardini created a site specific installation for Kinetica's feature exhibition at Kinetica Art Fair 2011.
