Revolver takes its name from the fundamental principle under which it operates. It uses the phenomenon of persistence of vision to display 3D video by controlling the light emitted from thousands of LEDs in rotation. The light emitted from Revolver appears to be floating in space, creating clouds of overlapping voxels (volumetric pixels) emitting light in every direction. These voxels can be activated at any time to make shapes appear within the 3D volume. 3D animations displayed on Revolver can be seen from any angle. Unlike other 3D display technologies, Revolver creates true volumetric video so that viewers really see in 3D with no need to wear any visual prosthesis for the magic to happen.
