Friday 17th February

Friday 17th February 2017
Programme

1pm
Opening of THE THIN VEIL Kinetica’s 10 Year Anniversary Exhibition 2017

1.30pm – Jenny Bennett (Moogambo) & Michael Tyack (Circulus) Main Gallery
Combing ancient instruments, percussion & moog synthesiser with binaurals and cosmic cords derived from the natural harmonic series of tones & properties of the number 9, Jenny Bennett & Michael Tyack will play alongside Paul Friedlander’s spinning waveforms to create sublime soundscapes and kaleidoscopic harmonies.

2pm
Luciana Haill, an hononary fellow at Greenwich University Department of Psychology, will conduct an interactive exploration of ‘Flicker’, and talk about the history of Light entrainment. She will demonstrate with audience members how brainwaves shift while viewing the flickering sculptures, including the Pandorastar and a holographic version of the Dreammachine.

There will be an opportunity to book a slot of ‘light therapy’ with the sculptures throughout the afternoon

3pm – Lorna McNeill – ‘Transforming from Stardust’
This experiential workshop is an opportunity to respond to the holographic projection of a light art installation using colour, words and movement.
As we connect to the deep time journey of the universe from inception to present day, our experience of the veil separating the physical from the eternal spiritual becomes thinner. We are literally made from the same chemical elements as stardust. Nearly every element within us was once inside an exploding star. We are stardust which has become conscious.

4pm – Analema Group – KIMA:The Wave
KIMA:The Wave uses cymatics to visualise soundwave patterns. The audience becomes participant and co-creator of a sonic composition being realised in real time, and is invited to explore a visualisation of their own voice.

4.30pm – Jenny Bennett (Moogambo) & Michael Tyack (Circulus) Main Gallery
Combing ancient instruments, percussion & moog synthesiser with binaurals and cosmic cords derived from the natural harmonic series of tones & properties of the number 9, Jenny Bennett & Michael Tyack will play alongside Paul Friedlander’s spinning waveforms to create sublime soundscapes and kaleidoscopic harmonies.

5pm – Jasmine Pradisitto – Quantum holographic sculpture
Jasmine Pradisotto, an ex-physicist turned visual artist, will show a holographic representation of her quantum sculptures, so called as they borrow from the dual nature of light, but also obey the fundamental rule that we effect the things we observe.

6pm – 9pm – LAUNCH EVENT

6pm – Holotronica
Stuart Warren-Hill, founder of Hexstatic and Holotronica. presents new work created for his latest invention, the Hologauze, a projection system enabling the world’s largest, brightest, high-resolution indoor holograms.

6.30pm – Analema Group – KIMA:The Wave – performance
The audience is invited to investigate sound through a performance by Evgenia Emets featuring the interference patterns generated by Tibetan singing bowls.

7pm – Kemal and the Spinning Cosmos
This experimental collaborative performance will combine holographic visuals by Stuart Warren Hill & Lucio Cavallari, spinning illuminated wave form sculptures by Paul Friedlander, live music by Michael Tyack and Jenny Bennett from Circulus & Moogambo and performance art by Maria Almena from Kimatica Studio. Devised and directed by Dianne Harris from Kinetica Museum, this experience aims to manifest a multidimensional universal concept of the spinning cosmos and connection to the source of life through an ancient ceremony of whirling inspired by Sufi dance and the dervish.

7.45pm – D-Fuse / Labmeta – Tekton – Live AV performance
An ongoing collaboration between D-Fuse and Labmeta, Tektōn is a series of works exploring the spatio-temporal qualities of light and motion. Beginning as a series of audiovisual shorts with artists including Hauschka, H17 and Swayzak, the project has gradually evolved into an audio-visual performance with music by Matthias Kispert.

All events take place in the LOFT space, with All Access tickets required, except those specified Main Gallery.
